With the Covid numbers improving – last week Portugal had on average 600 infection and 18 deaths per day – the government has start a very light opening of the economy and social live this 15^th of March.  The big opening will take place after Easter on the 5^th April where the Museums, the shops up to 200sqm, all kinds of schools, and the terraces will  open . Restaurants are schedule to open on April 19^th.

From now on and finally we have a framework of 3 objective and scientific based criteria to follow through the opening or get back to a  closing path. The 3 red lines are: i) a ratio of more than 240 infection per 100 000 inhabitants over the previous 14 days ii) a Rt (transmission ratio of an infected person and iii) a number of intensive beds occupied by Covid patients of over 245.

Although this represent a very tight criteria we now have a clearer sight over the pandemic and independent of government’s discretionary power.
